A Bit About Us

Sea la Luz (Be the Light) was co-founded by Anna and Paul Gagnet in December of 2019. At the time, Anna was a missionary teacher in Honduras and Paul was in his first year of residency at the University of Michigan. Anna saw first hand how many students dropped out of school before completing high school because of poverty. She and Paul decided to sponsor three high school students to get them over the finish line with their high school diploma. Seeing the success of the first three students, they went on to sponsor more students each year. They added emergency health care after becoming more aware of the great difficulty the rural poor in Honduras and Nicaragua face when trying to access necessary healthcare. In July of 2022, Sea la Luz was incorporated as non-profit to grow the mission and impact. God has been faithful in helping us meet some of the many needs of his children.
